The Introvert's Guide to Flirting
1. Follow your Friends
If you are like most introverts that I know, you are friends with extroverts. That means your friends have lots of single friends that you could meet. A blind date would be a great way to meet them. If you're uncomfortable with blind dates, then ask your friends to bring you along next time they go out together. The tag-along is a great way to meet people. It's safe and involves a group of people.
2. Birthday Parties and Weddings
Challenge yourself to step outside your personal boundaries. Most people hate parties because you have to be extroverted there. That's okay. Treat birthday parties and wedding as a test ground for learning to be extroverted. Let strangers come up to you. When they do, make small talk about the weather, the party and your friends. It will silence the awkwardness.
3. Smile
This is crucial part of all the classes I teach. The power of a smile is the secret weapon of any introvert. Most introverts come across rude and snobby, when they are really shy. The remedy for seeming rude is to smile a lot. The smile says that you secretly want romance, and that you are waiting for the right person to come along and smile back.
