Starting August 1st, 2007, Dave's company offers Domestic Partner benefits!!!! Woohooo!!!!! That is so exciting. They also cover implants - a huge bonus! I need five implants (at $3000 each), so I am really, really, really, really lucky to be in this situation now.
As an entrepreneur, having health benefits through Dave's employment is a life-saver. I've been self-insured for five years now. Since starting a business has been so expensive, I've had to avoid annual exams for my body because I care so much for the business I'm starting. Every dollar has gone towards the business. That's been both scary and humbling. Scary because cancers are really common, and annual check-ups are the best way to watch out for those. Humbling because I had to make my business a higher priority, even, over my own health.
Now WD Partners is supporting my health, helping me improve my own health and take care of myself better. And now I can better focus my energy (financial and physical) on growing my business and expanding my passion of helping people in dating and relationship success.
I'm so blessed and thankful to all the gay people of the last 50 years who fought, died, and received the brunt of so much hate and prejudice for so many years. Some of them endured millions of hours of physical pain, protest, agonizingly boring legal work, destitution, loneliness, and hurt because of others' short-sightedness. Although I respect that short-sightedness as a necessary aspect of change, I cherish the gay community that have changed the world. Thank you so much. I benefit from your hard work every day.
To all my readers: Each
June is
National Gay Pride month.
If you know someone who is upfront about their sexuality, go up to them, and say thanks! That kind of honesty should be cherished. Being a minority in something as significant as sexuality is tough. It's hard to be honest. It's the road less traveled. Tell them thank you because they've been kind enough to show you a piece of their heart. They deserve a warm thanks from your heart to theirs.
